Reflections and Announcements for August 2nd

Dear Family in Christ,

Christ Has Made Us Free

July is a month when Americans are especially grateful for the privilege of living in this country. We recognize that our freedom has been won at great cost. Much blood was shed and many lives lost, and, at this time of year, we take time to honor those who fought to liberate us. Our spiritual freedom, too, was won at great cost. We were slaves to the Law which we could never fulfill, but Christ satisfied its requirements for us. He shed his blood and gave his life to pay the penalty for the sin we incurred. Let us honor him as we express our gratitude by sharing with others the message of our freedom in Christ.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for the freedom that I have in America and in Christ. I thank you for your atoning work on the Christ that has truly set me free. Help me to live a life worthy of all that you are and do for me. Through Christ my intercessor. Amen.
