They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42 NIV
By meeting in fellowship, the members of First strengthen the bonds of the congregation, care for one another, and welcome new members into our rich traditions. We have many special opportunities for fellowship throughout the year including Vacation Bible School, concerts, congregational potlucks and catered dinners, Oktoberfest, dinner clubs, and Kids’ Night Out. On a regular basis we also have:
- After the 9:30 am service, we host a fellowship time in the Gernert Room. To get to the Gernert room from the sanctuary, exit at the front on the right hand side behind the organ console. Keep walking until you reach the main hallway and turn right. You will see people gathered in the large room on the right. We generally have coffee, juice or water and snacks such as cakes, cookies, chips or fruit.
Wednesday Night Church “Nite”
- Every other Wednesday evening from September up to Holy Week, we meet at 6:00 pm for dinner and fellowship. Afterwards, at 6:30, adults are invited to meet with Pastor Pam in the Gernert room for reflection and study while both the Alleluia Choir (5th grade and up) and Alpha Choir (Pre-K through 4th grade) have their respective choir practices.
Activities for Young Adults and College Students

- Periodic service projects
- WHAT IS THE 113 CLUB?
Three words say it! FELLOWSHIP, FOOD AND FUN!
This group of “50 years young and more” friends here at First Lutheran have been getting together once per month for over 20 years to enjoy those three things. The 113 Club group has traveled the greater metro area and beyond in search of interesting settings for lunch and an occasional related activity. Contact the church office for the coordinator’s email or phone number, or connect with the church membership director so you can join in.
Our monthly lunch is scheduled the 4th Thursday of each month. We are often treated to an interesting drive in the process of joining our friends for lunch. Some restaurants are new, some are old favorites and every once in a great while we find a “never again”, but that is rare and is even part of the fun.
Sound like fun to you too? Look for the monthly announcement in the Chronicles and email. Please join us. We promise to welcome you warmly in the First Lutheran tradition.
