CHRISTMAS IN JULY FOR ROOM IN THE INN - Room In The Inn operates educational and residential programs all year at The Campus with services including adult education, medical respite, a foot care clinic and long-term recovery classes. Please consider donating a Target or Wal-Mart gift card for Christmas in July. The cards will purchase socks, underwear, hygiene items and educational supplies. There will be a collection box in the Gernert Room.

WE PROVIDE A NURSERY EACH SUNDAY FROM 8:00 AM – NOON. Children who have not reached their 5th birthday are invited to enjoy the nursery with our nursery attendant Ms. Megan, Ms. Frances, and other volunteers each Sunday. Please fill out a name tag each week for your child.

GOD and COUNTRY CELEBRATION Today is the 4th Annual God and Country Picnic at Rau Wood Religious Retreat Center. All Lutherans are invited to gather about 3 pm. A brief service honoring those who have served our nation will begin at 3:30 pm. Chaplain Gary W. Philps will present a 10 minute program on Lutherans and Our Nation. We'll have a meal about 4:30 pm where hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, drinks and paper/plastic ware will be provided. You are invited to bring side dishes to complete the meal. Swimming, fishing, kids playing, adults visiting, and much fellowship will be enjoyed. Come visit other Lutherans.

YOUTH GRADES 6-12 TRIP TO KENTUCKY KINGDOM- On Saturday, July 11th the youth in grades 6-12 will take a trip to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Ky. We will leave the church at 8:00 AM and come back late that night. Friends are welcome to join. The cost is $20.00 person plus money for lunch, snacks, souvenirs etc. Please contact Neelie Crooke at to sign up. You may give your registration & $20.00 to Pastor or Neelie. Deadline is today!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL JULY 13-16 Wanted: extreme adventurers ready to trek to the E.D.G.E. - experiencing and discovering God everywhere! Would you like to spend four days this summer camping on the edge, complete with extreme adventures, exciting challenges, great music, and hours of fun? Camp E.D.G.E. will be right here at church Monday –Thursday mornings July 13-16, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. A mid-morning snack and lunch are provided. Sign up for a Vacation Bible School leadership role, or be a camper and join in an incredible week of adventure and growing in God's love at Camp E.D.G.E. 150 ANNIVERSARY OF THE CHURCH CELEBRATION IS SEPTEMBER 13, 2009 We want your memories for an anniversary book. Any special event or memory of First Lutheran that means a lot to you is welcome for our book. We know there is much history among our members and we look forward to putting your stories into a booklet.
